Y.E.S! (Youthful Excited Servants):
The third level of GND is the leadership training program, Y.E.S! Dedicated and faithful members will participate in a year long program that helps build strong leadership skills on the personal, professional, and spiritual levels. The Y.E.S! youth, ages 12-25, will attend regular meetings and leadership trainings that give instruction on how to survive in the natural world as a spiritual leader.
There will be a combination of experienced and certified facilitators that will teach a range of leadership skills such as resume writing, job skills, career planning, leadership in school and home, and being a leader for Christ. Y.E.S! youth will learn the principles of being a disciple and Christian living based from the book of Proverbs. They will be required to keep a daily journal of experiences and personal growth as well as periodically writing papers to expound on Proverbs and other lessons. Once the participants have begun to be successfully trained as Christian leaders, they will be able to assist GND staff in the outreach efforts of "Real Talk, Real Issues". Y.E.S! youth will have exposure to valuable volunteer experience throughout the year at Detroit area schools, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and more. They can also participate in the Summer Job Leadership Program, which presents the opportunity to find employment with Detroit area Christian based summer programs, such as the Joy of Jesus Summer Day Camp.
In addition to workshops, outreach, volunteer experience, and job placement, Y.E.S! youth will have access to daily programs and classes facilitated by GND staff and contractors. The following are some programs offered:
➢ Dance – Learn the art of dance for our Father. Worship, praise, intercessory, warfare, liturgical, miming, and more. The Y.E.S! youth dance team will travel throughout the nation to minister through this art form.
➢ Drama – Learn the art of drama for our Father. Acting workshops, play, skit writing and more. The Y.E.S! youth drama team will travel throughout the nation to minister through this art form.
➢ Intercessory – Be exposed to the spiritual gift of intercessory prayer and worship.
➢ Poetry – Learn the art of writing and reciting poetry for our Father. The Y.E.S! youth poetry team will travel throughout the nation to minister through this art form.
➢ Speaking – Develop the spiritual gift of studying the Bible and writing cohesive summaries on passages of scripture. Obtain valuable practice speaking the Word before audiences both within the GND organization and at youth events throughout the city.
➢ Step – Learn the art of stepping as well as the history and purpose of this form of dance. The Y.E.S! youth step team will travel throughout the nation to minister through this art form.
